[Main ingredient]Ceftiofur sodium

[ Character ] This product is white to gray yellow powder or loose block.

[Pharmacological action] Pharmacodynamics Ceftiofur is a β-lactam antibacterial agent with a broad spectrum bactericidal effect, and it is effective against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria (including β-lactamase producing bacteria). Its antibacterial mechanism is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell wall and lead to bacterial death. The sensitive bacteria were mainly Pasteurella multocida, Pasteurella haemolyticus, Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, etc. Some Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterococcus were resistant to drug. This product is more active than ampicillin and more active against streptococcus than fluoroquinolones.

Pharmacokinetics Ceftiofur is rapidly absorbed and widely distributed by intramuscular and subcutaneous injections but does not cross the blood-brain barrier. The concentration of ceftiofur in blood and tissues is high, and the effective blood concentration is maintained for a long time. In vivo, the active metabolite Desfuroylceftiofur is generated and further metabolized to inactive products which are excreted in urine and feces.

[Drug interactions] It has synergistic effects when combined with penicillin and aminoglycosides.

[Action and use] β-lactam antibiotics. They are mainly used for the treatment of bacterial diseases in livestock and poultry. Such as bovine, pig bacterial respiratory tract infection and chicken Escherichia coli, Salmonella infection.

[Usage and dosage] in ceftiofur. Intramuscular injection: one dose, 3 ~ 5mg/lkg body weight, pig; Once a day for 3 days. Subcutaneous injection :1 day old chickens, O.lmg per chick.

[Adverse reactions] (1) may cause gastrointestinal flora disorder or double infection.

(2) It has a certain degree of nephrotoxicity.

(3) Local transient pain may occur.

[Precautions] (1) Use it now.

(2) The dose should be adjusted for animals with renal insufficiency.

(3) People with high sensitivity to β-lactam antibiotics should avoid contact with this product.
